Job Description

Job Description

An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Occupational Therapist ready for a rewarding contract role in a supportive school environment near Missouri City, TX. This full-time, on-site position runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, serving students ranging in age from 3 to 21 in the southwest Houston area.

You’ll provide services across 6 to 7 schools within a defined geographical zone tailored to your ZIP code for a manageable commute. Use the district office as your home base before traveling to support your assigned campuses. Focus on a balanced caseload—around 70 total students, with about 30 to 40 receiving direct services. Many students will be seen on a rotating schedule rather than weekly, ensuring a dynamic workload and the chance to make a lasting impact. You’ll conduct evaluations, participate in ARD meetings, and utilize SHARES School Health and Onward software, documenting progress through Excel logs.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current and active Texas OT licensure required
  • Extensive previous experience in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred (highly qualified COTA’s with multiple years of relevant experience may be considered)
  • Experience conducting evaluations and participating in IEP/ARD processes
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • State fingerprinting/background check required
  • Must not be a former employee of the district nor terminated from a school district previously

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services in alignment with student IEPs
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports
  • Travel between assigned schools within your zone
  • Attend and contribute to ARD meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all district credentialing and documentation requirements

This full-time role operates Monday through Friday (37.5 hours/week), typically between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. If you’re passionate about providing high-quality OT services to diverse learners and thrive in an ever-changing school environment, we encourage you to apply today and start making a difference this upcoming school year!
