Job Description
We are seeking a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist to become a part of our dynamic practice, which consists of five full-time board-certified OB/GYNs, three nurse practitioners, one midwife, and dedicated sonographers. This role is situated in a private office environment, backed by the extensive resources of a prominent medical institution. Our practice operates as a division of a community medical group, aiming to deliver exceptional care, innovative treatments, and personalized service to our patients. Located in Suffolk County, Long Island, we are conveniently close to a major university hospital and other local healthcare facilities. This position includes responsibilities as a Hospitalist.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients, acting as the team leader for diagnosis and treatment.
- Gather medical histories, conduct physical examinations, diagnose conditions, and order necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Assess results from procedures and provide both preventive and acute care.
- Ensure continuity of care by creating and implementing individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients about their medical conditions, self-management strategies for acute or chronic illnesses, and customize instructions based on their unique situations.
- Guide and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, emphasizing wellness and health maintenance.
- Prescribe medications as needed.
- Document examinations and progress notes in the Electronic Medical Record, and provide referral letters when necessary.
- Collect, monitor, and report on patient outcomes.
- Participate in shared night and weekend on-call coverage with fellow physicians.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Oversee the conduct and care provided by clinical office staff, including nurses, medical assistants, and technologists, as the leader of the clinical team.
- Supervise the interactions and conduct of shadowing medical students, physician extenders, and nursing interns.
- Meet quality benchmarks set by Population Health, payers, and regulatory bodies such as the NYS Department of Health and the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services.
- Follow established evidence-based practices to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Develop a patient base to generate revenue that supports salary and operational expenses.
The salary range for this position is $350,000 - $400,000 annually.
Required Qualifications- MD or DO degree.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- New York State Licensure.
- Experience in a group practice or collaborative setting.
- Background in OB/GYN.
- Experience with advanced laparoscopic surgery in gynecology.
