Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where you’ll support young learners as a skilled School Occupational Therapist. In this role, you’ll make a difference by working closely with pre-K students, helping them reach key developmental milestones through meaningful interventions and collaborative care.
You’ll work three days per week—Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday—for a total of 22.5 hours, allowing you to maintain a flexible work-life balance. Serve a caseload of approximately 20-30 pre-kindergarten students, providing direct therapy and supporting each child’s unique needs. Your expertise will be vital in conducting special education evaluations and contributing to the best possible outcomes by writing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) alongside an interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois
- Previous school-based/early childhood experience preferred
- Ability to effectively evaluate developmental needs and implement therapy plans
- Comfortable writing IEPs and working as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer direct occupational therapy services to pre-K students in an inclusive setting
- Perform thorough special education evaluations to determine eligibility and areas of need
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, collaborating with educators, support staff, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes for each student
- Adapt activities and environments to support students’ access to learning opportunities
