Senior Production Planner
Job Description
Owen Daniels are supporting a leading advanced manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to play a pivotal role in driving production planning, materials scheduling and operational performance across a busy manufacturing site.
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner looking to take ownership of planning activities whilst working closely with senior leadership to ensure materials availability, production efficiency and on-time customer delivery.
\nOperating within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, you'll be a key link between Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement and Customer Service, helping to optimise planning processes, improve inventory performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
\nThis role would suit a Senior Production Planner, Master Scheduler, Supply Chain Planner, Planning Manager or Materials Planner looking for a new challenge within a growing manufacturing business.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Lead production planning and scheduling activities to ensure customer demand is achieved efficiently. \n
- Develop short, medium and long-term production plans in line with customer requirements and manufacturing capacity. \n
- Ensure material availability to support production schedules and minimise disruption. \n
- Monitor inventory levels, stock accuracy and planning parameters to optimise working capital. \n
- Work closely with Procurement, Operations and Engineering to resolve material shortages and capacity constraints. \n
- Support warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient material flow throughout the manufacturing process. \n
- Participate in Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP/S&OP) activities, providing accurate planning data and recommendations. \n
- Analyse planning performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency and delivery performance. \n
- Maintain ERP planning data, Bills of Materials and system parameters to ensure planning accuracy. \n
- Drive continuous improvement projects across planning, scheduling and material flow. \n
- Produce planning reports and KPIs for senior management. \n
About You
\nWe're looking for an experienced planning professional who combines excellent organisational skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
\nYou'll be confident working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and able to build strong relationships across multiple departments.
\nExperience Required
\n- \n
- Previous experience as a Senior Production Planner, Master Scheduler, Planning Manager, Supply Chain Planner, Materials Planner or similar. \n
- Strong production planning and scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment. \n
- Good understanding of materials planning, inventory management and supply chain processes. \n
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems. \n
- Experience participating in SIOP/S&OP planning processes would be highly advantageous. \n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. \n
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. \n
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles would be beneficial. \n
- Experience within regulated manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices, defence, electronics or advanced engineering would be advantageous. \n
