Job Title: Production Team Leader - Food Manufacturing
Location: Scarborough
Salary: £15.54 per hour,£31,515 per annum
Industry: Food Manufacturing
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Shift:Monday to Friday, 7:00am 4:00pm, with flexibility required and participation in 12 Sunday shifts per month.

Key Production Team Leader Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Lead, coach and develop the Production Department team to achieve high performance and continuous improvement.
  • \n
  • Set clear daily objectives and provide regular feedback to support individual development.
  • \n
  • Motivate the team to achieve production, quality and efficiency targets.
  • \n
  • Ensure all products are manufactured in line with food safety, quality and customer standards.
  • \n
  • Monitor daily production performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, yield and productivity.
  • \n
  • Plan and schedule production activities to meet business and customer demand.
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
  • \n
  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, food safety and environmental compliance at all times.
  • \n
  • Monitor employee safety and promote a positive safety culture throughout the department.
  • \n
  • Ensure company policies and operational procedures are consistently followed.
  • \n
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure production plans are achieved.
  • \n
  • Resolve day-to-day production issues quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
  • \n
  • Complete production documentation accurately and maintain operational records.
  • \n

Production Team Leader Requirements:

\n

Essential:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within a food manufacturing or food processing environment.
  • \n
  • Proven experience leading, supervising or mentoring a production team.
  • \n
  • Strong people management and motivational skills.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • Practical and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • \n
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working to tight production deadlines.
  • \n
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads effectively.
  • \n
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including 12 Sunday shifts per month.
  • \n
\n

Desirable:

\n
    \n
  • Level 2 Food Safety qualification (training can be provided if required).
  • \n
  • Experience monitoring production KPIs including yield, efficiency and productivity.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • \n
  • Confidence using production systems and completing manufacturing documentation.
  • \n
