\nPearson Carter are currently working with a market-leading travel organisation that is investing heavily in its in-house technology team. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced PHP Developer to help drive the development of their customer-facing platforms and internal systems.

\nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- Develop, maintain and enhance backend applications using PHP and Symfony. \n
- Design and develop REST APIs and microservices for internal and external integrations. \n
- Build scalable, secure and high-performing applications. \n
- Work with AWS services including EC2, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, CloudWatch and RDS. \n
- Collaborate with developers, stakeholders and other business teams to deliver new features. \n
- Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code following best practices. \n
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions. \n
- Work within an Agile development environment to deliver projects on time. \n
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate. \n
Experience
\n- \n
- Around 3 years' commercial experience developing with PHP. \n
- Strong experience with the Symfony Framework. \n
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs. \n
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services. \n
- Experience working with Linux and NGINX environments. \n
- Strong understanding of Git version control. \n
- Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. \n
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. \n
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Experience with React, Webpack and modern JavaScript (ES6). \n
- Knowledge of Redis and SOLR. \n
- Experience with website performance optimisation. \n
- Familiarity with SEO best practices. \n
- Experience with Google Tag Manager. \n
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. \n
Salary
\nSalary is dependent on experience but is looking to pay between £40,000 - £50,000.
\nLocation
\nThis role is based in Colchester and is primarily office-based (3 days in office, 2 days from home).
\nApplicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
