Financial Planning Analyst
\n£50k-£55k per annum
\nMonday Friday / General Office Hours

\nOur client based in the Wrexham area is currently recruiting a Financial Planning Analyst on a permanent basis.Working closely with Finance and Operational Management, the Financial Analyst will analyse business performance, identify trends, improve financial reporting, develop forecasts and support business planning. The successful candidate will become a trusted business partner, providing data-driven recommendations that improve profitability, operational efficiency and long-term business performance.
\nPerformance Objectives
\nFinancial Analysis
\nAnalyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
\nProduce weekly and monthly financial performance reports.
\nDevelop financial models to support business decisions.
\nConduct variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and prior performance.
\nMonitor key financial and operational KPIs.
\nSupport profitability analysis across departments, products and customers.
\nProvide meaningful financial insight to senior management.
\nForecasting & Budgeting
\nAssist in the preparation of annual budgets.
\nSupport rolling forecasts and financial planning activities.
\nDevelop financial projections for business growth and investment.
\nAnalyse operational performance against forecast.
\nSupport departmental budget reviews.
\nIdentify financial risks and opportunities.
\nBusiness Partnering
\nWork closely with Operations, Engineering, Production and Supply Chain to improve business performance.
\nChallenge operational assumptions using financial analysis.
\nSupport management with investment appraisals and business cases.
\nProvide financial guidance to departmental managers.
\nAssist operational teams in understanding financial performance.
\nStrategic Planning
\nSupport long-term financial planning.
\nAssist with evaluating business opportunities and investment proposals.
\nConduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
\nAssist with capital investment appraisals (CAPEX).
\nProvide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
\nReporting
\nAssist in monthly management reports.
\nDevelop KPI dashboards for senior management.
\nMonitor working capital performance.
\nContinuous Improvement
\nIdentify opportunities to improve financial reporting.
\nAutomate reporting processes where possible.
\nImprove data quality and reporting accuracy.
\nSupport ERP reporting improvements.
\nAssist with business process improvement initiatives.
\nCompliance & Governance
\nEnsure financial reporting complies with company policies.
\nSupport internal and external audits.
\nMaintain financial controls and reporting accuracy.
\nAssist with statutory reporting where required.
\nEnsure confidentiality of financial information.
\nPerson Specification
\nHighly analytical with exceptional attention to detail.
\nStrong commercial awareness.
\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.
\nAbility to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
\nStrong organisational skills.
\nProactive and self-motivated.
\nExcellent problem-solving ability.
\nAble to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

\nAbility to influence decision-making through financial insight
\nDegree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or equivalent.
\nPart Qualified or Qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) desirable.
\nPrevious experience as a Financial Analyst, FP&A Analyst, Commercial Finance Analyst or similar.
\nExperience producing financial forecasts and budgets.
\nStrong financial modelling capability.
\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills.
\nPower BI or other Business Intelligence software.
\nSAP, EFACS, Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems.
\nCost accounting knowledge.
\nLean Manufacturing environment.
\nSQL or advanced data analysis tools.
\nDashboard development and automation.
\nExperience supporting business transformation projects
