CMS Recruitment are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Associate/Senior Civil Engineer/Team Leader to lead and develop our Civil Engineering team. This is a senior leadership position combining technical excellence, team management and business development.You will play a key role in shaping the future of the business, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring the successful delivery of projects across all stages.What you will doThe role of the Associate/Senior Civil Engineer/Team Leader will involve:Technical Leadership and Delivery:Lead and manage the delivery of civil engineering projects from concept through to constructionOversee and review drawings, reports and calculations (Planning, Tender & Construction stages)Manage project resourcing and delegate workloads effectivelyReview and manage project variations, change control and additional fee requests.Attend client and site meetings, representing the business professionallyUndertake design work, including specialist schemes where required.Support Section Agreement submissionsTeam Leadership and People Management:Manage and develop the Civil Engineering teamMentor staff and ensure structured development plans are implementedCarry out staff appraisals and support performance managementPromote a positive team culture aligned with company valuesMonitor staff wellbeing and team performanceIdentify and implement software and resource improvementsBusiness Development and MarketingBuild and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and contractorsSupport bid submissions and PQQsContribute to business planning and growth strategiesAssist with marketing initiatives, including social media contentAttend management meetings and contribute to strategic decisionsCommercial ResponsibilitiesSupport monthly invoicing and cash flow managementAssist with fee proposals and commercial planningSupport change control processesContribute to achieving team financial targetsWhat you will haveChartered Engineer (or working towards) together with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience working within an engineering consultancy environmentProduce drainage and highway drawings, design calculations, technical reports and site appraisals.Knowledge of UK planning procedures and relevant design codes such as Water UK.Sewerage Sector Guidance, Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Local Authority Design Guidance and preparation of technical approvalsWorking understanding of technical software including AutoCAD, Causeway Flow, Causeway Live.Proven experience in a senior civil engineering role.Strong leadership and team management skillsCommercially aware with experience in fee management and client relations.Excellent communication and engagement abilities.Ability to balance technical delivery with strategic business input.What do we offer?Flexible Working HoursHolidays starting at 21 days per year, including bank holidays and over the Christmas period35 hour working week, with a 12:30pm finish each FridayPension enrolmentPermanent Health SchemeDeath in Service BenefitDiscretionary Bonus Scheme24/7 Employee Assistance ProgramProfessional support in gaining further qualificationsFree Eye TestsWe offer the chance to work in a friendly, hard-working and high-achieving team where you will be encouraged to take responsibility, develop yourself and see the difference you are making to the business.If you meet the requirements for the Senior Civil Engineer/Technician position and would like to be considered for this exciting opportunity, please submit your CV!TPBN1_UKTJ
