Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
\nLocation: Manchester

\nWe’re currently working with a leading engineering business operating across the UK water and wastewater sector, who are looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing design team.
\nThis is a great opportunity for an electrical engineer with around 3–5 years’ design experience who is looking to develop their technical career while working on a range of water and wastewater projects.
\nWorking as part of a multidisciplinary design team, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality electrical design deliverables and supporting projects from concept through to construction.
\nYour responsibilities will include:
\n- \n
- Producing electrical designs in line with safety, quality and client requirements \n
- Preparing electrical calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications \n
- Developing LV electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment projects \n
- Working closely with CAD technicians to produce accurate and coordinated drawings \n
- Liaising with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplines \n
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, legislation and client specifications \n
- Supporting design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering activities \n
- Managing design changes throughout project delivery \n
- Attending client, supplier and internal design meetings \n
- Continuing to develop your technical knowledge through mentoring, CPD and professional development \n
We’re looking for someone with:
\n- \n
- A Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline \n
- 3–5 years’ electrical design experience within the UK water industry \n
- Experience producing LV electrical designs for water or wastewater treatment projects \n
- Good knowledge of relevant British Standards and water industry design practices \n
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office \n
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary design environment \n
- A full UK driving licence \n
It would also be beneficial if you have experience with:
\n- \n
- ICA, control systems or telemetry \n
- ATEX design principles \n
- Amtech, Trimble ProDesign or similar electrical design software \n
- BIM processes and Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise or Autodesk Construction Cloud \n
- Working towards IEng or CEng status \n
