Team Leader - Manufacturing and Production
\n Location: Plymouth, UK (on-site)
\n Salary: £36,500 per annum
\n Employment Type: Permanent
\n Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours / split shifts 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00
\n Our client, a well-established manufacturing business in Plymouth, is seeking a Team Leader to support their production operations. This role involves leading a team of Manufacturing Operators to meet production targets while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
\n The Role:
\n * Lead, support, and develop a team of Manufacturing Operators to achieve daily production and performance targets.
\n * Drive performance in line with key business metrics including Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People.
\n * Promote a zero-accident culture by proactively identifying safety hazards and ensuring company policies are followed.
\n * Ensure high standards of quality are achieved in line with Medical Device Standards and Good Manufacturing Practice.
\n * Support labour planning, monitor sickness and holiday cover, and help ensure production plans are delivered efficiently.
\n * Work closely with Production, Quality, R&D, and planning teams to provide clear and accurate communication across shifts.
\n * Identify opportunities to reduce waste, lower costs, and improve Right First Time performance and batch record completion.
\n Required Expertise:
\n * Previous experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally with experience supervising or leading a team.
\n * Good understanding of Health and Safety procedures within a production or manufacturing setting.
\n * Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice and the ability to work to high quality standards.
\n * Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.

\n Essential Qualifications
\n * Educated to GCSE level, including English and Maths, or equivalent
\n Essential Experience
\n * Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
\n Essential Skills and Competencies
\n * Able to supervise or lead a team within a manufacturing setting
\n * Good understanding of Health and Safety procedures in a production or manufacturing environment
\n * Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice and capable of working to high quality standards
\n * Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
\n * Strong attention to detail
\n * Computer literate and flexible, able to work effectively within a team-focused environment
\n Desirable Qualifications and Skills
\n * Experience of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement techniques
\n * Previous experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment
\n * Experience supporting production planning, labour allocation, or shift handovers
