PCV Technician (Days) Parliament Street Garage

The Engineering Department are looking for a skilled and motivated PCV Technician to join the team based at Parliament Street Garage.

\n

About the Role

\n

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing our modern fleet of buses and company vehicles to the highest safety and quality standards.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Our ideal candidate will have both electrical and mechanical knowledge in the HGV / PCV repair industry to enhance our current and proposed vehicle shift rota.

\n

You will:

\n
    \n
  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on PCVs
  • \n
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • \n
  • Complete vehicle inspections, MOT preparations, and safety checks
  • \n
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with DVSA and company standards
  • \n
  • Accurately complete records
  • \n
  • Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
  • \n
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • \n

Requirements

\n

You must possess:

\n
    \n
  • Qualified HGV/PCV Technician (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent preferred) with at least 3 years post qualifying experience ideally in a main dealer or PSV or HGV workshop
  • \n
  • IRTEC qualification
  • \n
  • Previous experience maintaining buses, coaches, HGVs, or commercial vehicles
  • \n
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • \n
  • Full UK and PCV driving licence
  • \n
  • Experience of Cummins and Scania drivetrain and electrical systems
  • \n
  • Experience of modern CAN bus electrical systems and OEM diagnostic systems
  • \n

Hours of Work - Monday to Friday role 07.00hrs to 15.00hrs with an early finish on Friday. 37hrs a week

Remuneration and benefits

  • £19.87 per hour. You will receive an enhanced rate of £23.62 per hour for weekends and for overtime

  • Permanent role, based on-site in Nottingham
  • \n
  • 25 days holiday per year plus recognised Bank Holidays
