Machine Operator (Press Brake, CNC Router & Laser)Location: SparkfordJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)Shift Pattern: Alternating weekly shiftsEarly Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am 3:00pm | Friday, 6:00am 12:00pmLate Shift: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm 11:00pm | Friday, 11:00am 5:00pmOvertime AvailableAbout the Role We're looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join our busy production team in Sparkford. You'll be responsible for setting up and operating Press Brakes, CNC Routers and Laser Cutting machines , producing high-quality components from materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and plastics.Working from technical drawings and bills of materials, you'll ensure parts are manufactured accurately, meet quality standards and are completed safely and efficiently.What You'll Be Doing Set up and operate Press Brake, CNC Router and Laser Cutting machinesLoad and unload raw materials and finished componentsCheck material size, grade and thickness before productionRead and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materialsInspect, measure and deburr finished partsSort and route completed components ready for the next production stageComplete production and quality documentation accuratelyCarry out basic machine maintenance and report any issuesSupport continuous improvement initiativesWork safely and follow all Health & Safety proceduresAssist on other machinery and production tasks when requiredWhat We're Looking For Essential:Previous experience operating Press Brakes, CNC Routers or Laser Cutting machinesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience using measuring equipment such as verniers, squares, protractors and tape measuresStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityGood problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDesirable:Experience using nesting softwareKnowledge of Sage, CIM50 or Microsoft 365Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environmentAbout You You'll be a reliable, motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
