Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a high-impact Group leadership opportunity within a successful international manufacturing organisation.

\n


\n

As Group HSE & ESG Manager, you will provide strategic direction, governance and expert guidance across a portfolio of operating companies, partnering with Managing Directors, senior leadership teams and HSE professionals to drive continuous improvement in Health, Safety, Environmental and ESG performance.

\n


\n

This is not a traditional site-based Health & Safety role. It is a highly visible position operating at Group level, requiring the credibility, confidence and commercial awareness to influence senior stakeholders, present to Boards and Executive Teams, and support business-critical decision-making.

\n


\n

Working closely with multiple subsidiary Managing Directors and Group committee members, you will help shape standards, improve organisational capability and support sustainable growth across a diverse manufacturing group.

The Opportunity - As Group HSE & ESG Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Group Health, Safety and Environmental strategy.
  • \n
  • Support, coach and develop HSE professionals across multiple operating companies.
  • \n
  • Drive consistency, collaboration and shared learning across the wider HSE network.
  • \n
  • Lead a programme of audits, inspections and assurance reviews.
  • \n
  • Monitor performance, identify emerging risks and recommend improvement initiatives.
  • \n
  • Present reports, trends, risks and investment recommendations to the Board and Executive leadership teams.
  • \n
  • Support the ongoing development of the Group's ESG framework and sustainability agenda.
  • \n
  • Act as the recognised internal subject matter expert for Health, Safety, Environment and ESG matters.

About You

\n

You will be an experienced HSE leader with a track record of operating in manufacturing, engineering or other complex operational environments. Also, you will be comfortable working with senior leaders and able to build credibility quickly across multiple businesses and stakeholder groups. We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Significant Health, Safety and Environmental leadership experience within a multi-site organisation.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of HSE governance, risk management and management systems.
  • \n
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders across complex business structures.
  • \n
  • Confidence presenting to Boards, Executive Teams and Managing Directors.
  • \n
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to develop capability without relying on direct authority.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional qualification.
  • \n
  • IOSH membership.
  • \n
