The Role

\n

As part of the Financial Crime Advisory team, you will act as a subject matter expert on sanctions compliance and broader financial crime obligations, supporting the firm in navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.

Key responsibilities include:

\n
    \n
  • Providing expert AML, CTF and sanctions advice across the business
  • \n
  • Leading the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the firm's sanctions compliance programme
  • \n
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and ensuring policies, procedures and controls remain aligned with evolving requirements
  • \n
  • Advising senior stakeholders on complex client, matter and transaction clearances, with a particular focus on sanctions risk
  • \n
  • Supporting the firm's response to regulatory enquiries, audits and reviews across the UK, EMEA and US
  • \n
  • Delivering practical guidance and training to lawyers and business services professionals on sanctions compliance requirements
  • \n
  • Developing and enhancing financial crime policies, procedures and controls within a global framework
  • \n
  • Conducting research and analysis on complex client structures and beneficial ownership arrangements
  • \n
  • Partnering with New Business Intake and Risk teams to ensure a consistent and commercially focused approach to financial crime compliance
  • \n
  • Acting as a trusted adviser on complex AML, sanctions and customer due diligence matters
  • \n

About You

\n
    \n
  • 3-4 years' PQE as a lawyer specialising in Financial Crime
  • \n
  • Experience within a Financial Crime, Compliance, Regulatory, Law Enforcement or Investigations environment
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international sanctions regimes and AML regulations
  • \n
  • Experience providing risk-based advice to senior stakeholders on complex financial crime matters
  • \n
  • Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • \n
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance risk with business objectives
  • \n
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • \n
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure
  • \n
  • ICA AML Diploma (or willingness to undertake the qualification, fully supported by the firm)
