Assistant Site Manager

Our client is a leading residential developer with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality homes and creating outstanding communities across the South West. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join their construction team on a residential development in Bristol.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager looking to develop their career with a respected housebuilder, working alongside experienced Site and Project Managers on a busy residential scheme.

The Role

As Assistant Site Manager, you will support the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the development, helping to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards of quality.

You will play a key role in coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress and maintaining excellent health and safety standards while gaining valuable experience across all stages of the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day management of a residential construction site.
\n
• Support the Site Manager in delivering the build programme safely, on time and within budget.
\n
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor the quality of workmanship.
\n
• Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
\n
• Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are maintained at all times.
\n
• Assist with site inductions and toolbox talks.
\n
• Coordinate materials, deliveries and site logistics.
\n
• Monitor progress against programme and report any issues.
\n
• Help manage snagging, defect resolution and handovers.
\n
• Build positive working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
\n

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Finishing Foreman, Finishing Manager or Site Supervisor within residential construction.
\n
• Experience working for a residential developer or main contractor on new-build housing projects.
\n
• A good understanding of traditional and timber frame construction methods.
\n
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
\n
• A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
\n
• Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and site management procedures.
\n
• SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS Card and First Aid qualification.
\n
