Physical Therapist Outpatient At Home Per Diem (average 8-10hrs/wk)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to organize and implement physical therapy programs aimed at facilitating rehabilitation. This role involves guiding clients through selected activities to restore, enhance, and reinforce their performance. The focus is on teaching essential skills and functions that promote independence and productivity, ultimately reducing or correcting physical impairments. Additionally, the position includes directing activities that foster health maintenance.

Key Competencies

• Conduct diagnostic assessments to evaluate the extent of patients’ impairments and their potential for improvement.
• Develop a tailored care plan addressing identified impairments, establishing clear and measurable short- and long-term treatment goals.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients, create suitable treatment goals and methods, implement the physical therapy plan, and manage all related documentation.
• Apply therapeutic techniques in areas such as gait, ambulation, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, posture control, sensory awareness, balance, and orientation.
• Design and fit adaptive devices, providing training on their use, including orthotics and prosthetics.
• Select appropriate physical agent modalities based on individual needs, physical capabilities, and diagnoses.
• Collaborate with other rehabilitation team members to determine the best therapeutic regimen for each client.
• Teach clients the skills necessary for mobility activities and assess their progress, attitudes, and behaviors related to rehabilitation.
• Customize treatment programs to align with each client’s unique needs.
• Actively participate in client care discussions, staffing meetings, and related activities.
• Supervise supportive personnel in compliance with state regulations and professional standards.
• Conduct training sessions for medical, nursing, and other staff on physical therapy techniques and objectives.
• Ensure clients and their families receive compassionate, high-quality service that respects individual needs and rights.
• Adapt to staffing needs within therapy programs as required.

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapy Licensure in Massachusetts.

Physical Requirements

This position involves contact with patients in various circumstances, which may include exposure to unpleasant odors, sights, and sounds. You may encounter unpredictable situations and be exposed to infections, contagious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens. Personal protective equipment such as gloves, gowns, and masks may be necessary. The role requires prolonged standing or walking, as well as lifting, positioning, transporting, and transferring patients and equipment. It also involves considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Salary Range: $86,670.93 - $130,006.92
