Key Responsibilities:

• Provide medical care for patients with Traumatic Brain Injury within the Neurology specialty, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of outpatients in the clinic.
• Offer evaluations and recommendations for neurology-related issues in the referral area through phone consultations, telemedicine, and assessment of air evacuation patients as necessary.
• Prepare, write, and dictate medical summaries for medical retention boards.
• Draft physical profiles, medical evaluation boards, fitness for duty assessments, and other relevant documentation as required.
• Supervise, educate, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and experiential criteria outlined below. Relevant experience includes both paid and unpaid work, such as volunteer roles through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, social). All qualifying experience will be credited, including volunteer work. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts must be included with your application.

Basic Requirements for Physician (Neurology):

Degree: Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution in the U.S. or Canada. This degree must be recognized by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, or the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or another accrediting body acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education at the time of graduation.

For those with a foreign medical degree, the education must be equivalent to that of accredited U.S. institutions, demonstrated by permanent certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the U.S. and graduate education abroad, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.

Licensure:

Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.

Graduate Training:

After obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.

Residency Training:

Applicants must have successfully completed an accredited residency program in Neurology and possess equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the required residency training specific to this specialty.
