Job Location and Status

Status: Full Time, 80 Hours

General Summary

The physician will deliver direct patient care in line with established protocols, practices, and standardized care guidelines. In addition to the outlined responsibilities, candidates must fulfill the minimum criteria for medical staff privileges.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and document findings accurately and promptly.
• Utilize and interpret relevant diagnostic tests (such as laboratory tests and imaging procedures) and provide necessary referrals or consultations.
• Educate and counsel patients to promote wellness, addressing health risk behaviors and providing resources.
• Offer agreed-upon coverage for patient care in appropriate settings (e.g., ambulatory office and/or hospital) during business hours and evenings/weekends, as mutually arranged and in accordance with medical staff bylaws.
• Maintain and demonstrate the clinical, technical, and surgical skills for which the physician is credentialed.
• Administer pharmacological treatments in accordance with patients' age, medical conditions, allergies, drug interactions, and therapy duration, ensuring quality care in dispensing both narcotic and non-narcotic medications.
• Keep an updated Delaware medical license, CSR license, and DEA license, including fulfilling continuing medical education (CME) requirements and maintaining appropriate Board certification.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
• Engage in departmental, organizational, and/or community committees and activities as appropriate.
• Integrate new knowledge from conferences, workshops, and professional literature into clinical practice.
• Support and adhere to the organization's Physician Medical Staff Credo.
• Contribute to medical knowledge by synthesizing new research and applying it to enhance healthcare practices.
• Participate in and support the integrated continuum of care for patients to improve care quality.
• Foster a sense of community and commitment to collaboration, performance standards, and increasing patient referrals among medical staff.
• Build collegial and collaborative relationships with colleagues and staff.
• Attend quarterly medical staff meetings, practice meetings, and other meetings as requested by leadership.
• Support the organization's strategic initiatives and goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with completed residency. Board Certified/Board Eligible as per medical staff bylaws.
• Credentials: Physician - Controlled Substance Registration, Physician MD, DEA Diversion Control Division; 45627.
