At Sutherland Hall School in Tamworth, we are looking for a dedicated and inspiring SENCO to join our vibrant community. This is a full-time, term-time only position with a competitive salary of £42,000 per annum.

Your Role and Responsibilities\n

As our SENCO, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

• Determining the strategic development of the school's SEN policy and provision.
\n
• Designing and delivering interventions to reduce attainment gaps.
\n
• Assessing and monitoring pupils' progress in line with their EHCPs.
\n
• Coordinating and leading annual reviews.
\n
• Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
\n
• Attending multi-agency meetings and leading on Early Help.
\n
• Supporting individual learning plans in collaboration with teachers and parents.
\n
• Maintaining accurate records and supporting colleagues in effective teaching strategies.
\n
• Working closely with external agencies to support pupils' development and mental health needs.
\n
• Implementing and evaluating intervention groups for pupils with SEN.
\n

What We’re Looking For\n

To thrive in this role, you should have:

\n

\n
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
\n
• The National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete the NPQ for SENCOs.
\n
• Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
\n
• A background in teaching within an autism/SEMH school.
\n
• Experience in delivering training and leading INSET.
\n
• A sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
\n
• A commitment to professional development and a passion for learning.
\n
