Your Role and Responsibilities\nAs a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining two small to medium-sized school sites. Your key tasks will include:

- Maintaining clean, safe, and secure school premises, including buildings and grounds. \n
- Carrying out cleaning, maintenance tasks, and minor repairs. \n
- Supervising school cleaning staff. \n
- Promoting health and safety around the schools. \n
- Handling porterage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment. \n
- Reporting any issues to the Headteacher. \n
- Arranging larger repairs and obtaining quotes from contractors. \n
- Conducting daily cleaning and ad-hoc duties, including litter picking. \n
- Managing emergency cleaning duties, such as gritting and spill clean-ups. \n
- Coordinating an annual deep clean of frequently used spaces. \n
- Maintaining cleaning tools and products, ensuring good stock levels. \n
- Locking and unlocking the premises as required. \n
- Ensuring all windows, doors, and gates are secured at the end of the day. \n
To thrive in this role, you should have:

- Previous caretaking experience within a school environment. \n
- Experience in building maintenance and security, including alarm systems. \n
- A good understanding of health and safety regulations. \n
- Basic DIY skills. \n
- Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with contractors and visitors. \n
- Good literacy and numeracy skills. \n
- The ability to work in an environment with SEMH children. \n
- A full driving licence and access to your own car. \n
- A willingness to travel between both sites. \n
