Here's a fresh version with different wording and a more senior, delivery-led tone: A growing project and cost management consultancy in Chelmsford is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its experienced team. The role offers the chance to lead a varied portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and public sector work, with direct access to clients and a high level of responsibility from the outset. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee the commercial delivery of projects from early feasibility through to completion, managing cost planning, procurement, contract administration, valuations, change, and final accounts. You will work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors, providing clear commercial direction and ensuring each project is delivered with strong financial control. This opportunity would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is confident managing their own commissions, enjoys building client relationships, and wants to play a visible role within a collaborative consultancy where progression and influence are both achievable. Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities: Leading cost management services across multiple live projects Preparing cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and procurement advice Managing tender documentation and contractor evaluations Overseeing valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts Producing commercial reports and advising clients on cost and risk Attending client meetings, design reviews, and site progress meetings Supporting junior surveyors and contributing to team development Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline Strong experience within a UK consultancy or client-side environment Proven ability to manage projects through pre- and post-contract stages Good knowledge of JCT contracts and common procurement routes Strong client-facing, communication, and commercial skills MRICS qualified or working towards chartership would be advantageous Able to manage multiple commissions with a high level of autonomy In Return: £65,000-£75,000 per annum 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays Hybrid and flexible working options Pension scheme Professional membership fees paid Ongoing training and professional development Exposure to a varied regional project portfolio Clear progression towards Associate level If you are a Senior Quantity Surveyor considering your career opportunities, then please contact Dan McEvoy at Brandon James.
