HGV Technician

We are looking for a HGV Technician looking for the chance to further their career and become a vital member of the team. You will have the opportunity to earn good money, work for a company investing in its team, site and business and also investing in you. This role will give you the opportunity to obtain a HGV License and your IRTEC qualification should you want to. BASIC SALARY: up to £45,000 BENEFITS: · Bonus scheme · Private healthcare · Holidays · IRTEC / ATA accreditation training · Corporate team days · Opportunity to gain your HGV licence after 6 months (if you don't already hold one) · Overtime available LOCATION: Peterborough COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Stamford, Oundle, Thrapston, Rushden, Wellingborough, Melton Mowbray, Bourne, Spalding, Wisbech, March, St Ives, Ely, Cambridge JOB DESCRIPTION: HGV Technician, HGV Fitter, HGV Mechanic - commercial vehicle, LGV, HGV, fleet Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: · Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, light vehicles and trailers · Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs · Preparing vehicles for MOT · Attending roadside breakdowns when required · Working closely with the parts department · Completing job cards and workshop paperwork accurately · Keeping your technical knowledge up to date through ongoing training PERSON SPECIFICATION: HGV Technician, HGV Fitter, HGV Mechanic - commercial vehicle, LGV, HGV, fleet You'll ideally have: · NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience) · Recent experience working within the motor trade in a similar role · Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills · A full UK driving licence · An HGV licence would be fantastic, but it's not essential. If you're the right person and don't currently hold one, we'll support you in gaining your licence after six months.
