Job Introduction The Team Leader PLC Technical specialist plays a crucial role in providing expert support for TGW control systems.You will be responsible for ensuring that TGW controls systems across customer sites operate efficiently and are optimised effectively. Working closely with our site management, you will support the delivery of continuous improvements and achievement of the expected operational results.This role will provide leadership and guidance to the PLC Technical Specialists within the Operational Excellence department, supporting the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of improvement projects. The objective is to ensure that expected service delivery levels are achieved and sustained through effective technical support and operational excellence practices.You'll be working on our sites across Northern Europe so the ability to travel often is required.WHAT YOULL BE HANDLING Identify and resolve technical issues efficiently, supporting customers and internal teams Maintain, review technical documentation and standardise where requiredLead and support the root cause analysis process when requiredEnsure that continuous improvement ideas are spread and known across the TGW portfolioIdentify opportunities that add value for customers and generate potential revenue for TGWDrive continuous improvement in service processes and team performanceDeliver department services to meet stake holder expectationsProvide clear and effective feedback to internal and external stakeholdersSupport and develop training and training material for end users and internal colleaguesSupport the recruitment, induction and onboarding of new team membersManage team workload and resource planning to ensure project deadlines and customer requirements are achievedHold regular one-to-one meetings, expected to take place at least monthly, to review performance, progress against objectives, wellbeing and engagementWork safely and adhere to all Health & Safety requirements, including Risk Assessments (RAs), Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and COSHH requirementsWHAT YOULL NEED Apprenticeship trained with qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineeringBasic understanding of PLC controls (Siemens)High level of understanding of control systems (including but not limited to):Networking & hardware componentsFieldbus technology i.e. Profibus, Profinet, ASiMotion control via inverters and servo drivesHighly motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a teamStrong commitment to the Environment, Health and Safety cultureExperience working with internal and external customersStrong communication skillsExperience working with TGW intralogistics automationDemonstrates a proactive and self-motivated approach to workGood fault finding and diagnostic skillsAbility to make decisions under pressure and show initiativeProven experience in generating PLC code (ideally using Siemens PLCs)Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and panel drawings E PlanPrevious PLC experience and / or technical product knowledgeWe Offer We offer a competitive salary plus car allowance.
