About Hampshire SENDIASS\n

The Hampshire SENDIASS team is part of the Children's Services branch of Polaris. We provide timely, confidential, and impartial information, advice, and support for parents, carers, children, and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). Our mission is to empower families to take an active and informed role in their education.

Your Role\n

As a SENDIASS Support Worker, you will be an integral part of our friendly team in Hampshire. Your role will involve:

• Providing one-on-one support to children and young people with SEND and their families.
\n
• Assisting with EHCP applications, SEND tribunals, attendance issues, social care provision, exclusions, and SEN support.
\n
• Explaining documents and supporting customers in writing applications and attending meetings.
\n
• Advocating for customers throughout the SENDIST appeal process.
\n
• Identifying barriers and advocating for necessary support services.
\n
• Maintaining accurate records and database entries for casework.
\n
• Contributing to the development of resources for our SENDIASS website and social media.
\n

What We’re Looking For\n

We seek a passionate individual with:

\n

\n
• Relevant professional or personal experience in special educational needs, disabilities, education, health, or social care.
\n
• A qualification in SEND law or a willingness to pursue IPSEA SEN Law Training within your first year.
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\n
• Experience in a leadership role, with a calm yet assertive approach to managing complex conversations.
\n
• Confidence in using Microsoft Outlook and other Office applications.
\n
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own car.
\n
