Maintenance Engineer

Are you an electrically biased engineer who wants to develop further intoPLCs, controls and automationwithout having to move into a full Controls Engineer role straight away?This is an opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing site that is prepared toinvest in your development, including further PLC and controls training, while giving you exposure to a broad range of electrical maintenance work.The role would particularly suit someone who has recently completed an electrical apprenticeship or is still relatively early in their maintenance career and wants a genuine route to develop their technical capability.The RoleYoull work as part of the site engineering team on a regular days pattern, supporting everything from routine electrical maintenance and testing through to breakdowns, instrumentation and increasingly complex controls work as your experience develops.Typical responsibilities will include:Planned and reactive electrical maintenanceElectrical fault-finding and breakdown supportMotors, drives, sensors and instrumentationTesting, calibration and electrical inspectionsControl panels and electrical installationsPLC-controlled machinerySupporting continuous improvement activityDeveloping further into PLC diagnostics and controlsOccasional out-of-hours support when requiredWhat Theyre Looking ForYou do not need to be an experienced Controls Engineer.They are more interested in someone with a strong electrical foundation, the right attitude and the ambition to develop.Ideally, you will have:Completed an electrical apprenticeshipLevel 3 electrical qualification or equivalentIndustrial electrical maintenance experience18th EditionExperience fault-finding on production machineryExposure to motors, drives, sensors or PLC-controlled equipmentA genuine interest in developing further into PLCs and controlsPackage£40,000 basic salaryPlus:Business performance bonus of up to 5%26 days holiday plus bank holidaysContributory pensionDiscounted medical and dental insuranceFunded technical development, including PLC/controls trainingWorking HoursMonday to Thursday:8:00am 4:30pmFriday:8:00am 2:00pmA level of flexibility is required to support occasional out-of-hours callouts.Why Consider It?
