Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? At Polaris - Martha H School, we are looking for a dedicated Tutor / ELSA to join our vibrant community in Wigan, Lancashire. This is a full-time, term-time only position with a competitive salary of £24,000 FTE.

Your Role and Responsibilities\nAs a Tutor / ELSA, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students' personal and academic development. Your responsibilities will include:

- Enhancing wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management. \n
- Collaborating with the education team to remove barriers to learning. \n
- Promoting positive learning behaviours among students. \n
- Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff. \n
- Delivering engaging enrichment activities during Golden Time. \n
- Providing support in lessons for academic understanding and emotional needs. \n
- Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations. \n
- Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions. \n
- Assisting in preparing information for meetings about pupils. \n
- Being an advocate for the ethos of Martha H School. \n
- Leading on reading and phonics, reviewing student progress. \n
- Developing the Pupil Voice and liaising with the Senior Leadership Team. \n
- Building relationships with parents/carers and participating in transitions and consultations. \n
To thrive in this role, you should have:
\n- \n
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics. \n
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA. \n
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting. \n
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like food hygiene, forest school, or school yoga. \n
- Experience in behaviour management techniques. \n
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn. \n
