Position Overview:
Our organization is proud to present a state-of-the-art facility that opened its doors in 2014. The Medical-Surgical Department features 13 beds and is linked to a 3-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). We maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1 during the day and 5:1 at night, with Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) available on all shifts. To ensure the safety of both patients and staff, we provide 24/7 security. Nurses typically work 12-hour shifts and are scheduled every third weekend. Being a smaller facility allows us to foster meaningful relationships with our patients.
Many nursing professionals find the Medical-Surgical Department to be an excellent starting point for their careers, often choosing to remain with us long-term.

Job Summary:
The role involves providing direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply medical-surgical nursing standards to enhance patient care and quality of life by systematically assessing the effectiveness of nursing practices.
- Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans.
- Utilize the nursing process to formulate and execute care plans, gather assessment data, establish nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, implement interventions, and evaluate results.
- Develop management strategies that consider various dimensions of human responses to health issues, including physical, cultural, and social factors.
- Demonstrate understanding of how illnesses affect patients' overall status.
- Exhibit leadership by collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams to assess needs, set goals, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Engage in effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion, maintenance, and comfort measures.
- Promote a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
- Incorporate evidence-based practices into medical-surgical nursing to meet age-specific and clinical needs.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
- May conduct point-of-care testing as per established protocols.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
Experience:
- No prior experience necessary.
- Regularly use speech for effective communication.
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly engage in sitting, reaching, and data entry.
- Frequent visual acuity for near and far distances, including color differentiation.
- Regularly use smell for odor detection.
- Frequent hearing for communication and monitoring alarms.
- Occasional driving and other physical activities.
