Job Overview

This role involves supporting the nursing and physician teams by managing daily technical operations. The Special Procedure Technologist will assist the Interventional Radiology team in preparing, conducting, and finalizing all examinations, both within and outside the department. Ensuring adherence to quality control and assurance standards is essential, as is maintaining patient comfort while meeting technical requirements during procedures.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Possession of a valid ARRT and NJ DEP license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in radiology is preferred.
  • Experience in procedural Interventional Radiology is advantageous.
Scheduling Requirements
  • This is a part-time position requiring 40 hours per week, structured as four 10-hour shifts, including on-call and weekend rotations.
Essential Functions
  • Assist in organizing the daily work schedule and preparing examination rooms.
  • Work closely with physicians to ensure accurate orders, x-ray requests, and lab results.
  • Ensure correct technical exposure settings with both digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure for patient safety and comfort.
  • Involves programming digital computers, managing film stands, and operating contrast injectors.
  • Responsible for radiation safety and protection, as well as coordinating ongoing education.
