Position Overview:

This role involves assisting with procedures aimed at evaluating, diagnosing, and treating conditions related to the cardiovascular system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for various procedures by reviewing their medical history, positioning them appropriately, and performing necessary preparations such as cleaning, shaving, or numbing the testing sites.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report test results, identifying any recording errors or artifacts and responding accordingly.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, promptly reporting any unusual findings regarding their condition.
  • Maintain and prepare equipment, supplies, and the laboratory area for procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and report any issues or malfunctions to the relevant personnel, including locking or tagging out equipment when necessary.
  • Contribute to keeping the department clean and organized.
  • May conduct point-of-care testing in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:Education:
  • Completion of a Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program is required.
Experience:
  • No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Frequent use of vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
  • Regularly communicate verbally, utilizing hearing and speech.
  • Frequently distinguish body sounds and respond to alarms or malfunctioning equipment through hearing.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Regularly lift and move patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry on a keyboard.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
  • Rarely kneel or sit.

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Radiologic Technologists - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
  • ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

For positions in Missouri and Oklahoma:

  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
