Job OverviewOur organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join our Level 1 Trauma Center's Main Operating Room located on the New Brunswick campus.
Position SummaryThe Operating Room Nurse will deliver exceptional patient care within the surgical environment, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. This position demands a meticulous and proactive individual who excels in a dynamic setting and is focused on enhancing surgical outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, while adhering to ethical guidelines as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Ensure safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles and maintaining awareness of personal knowledge and experience levels.
- Report any identified safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
- Maintain knowledge of the patient demographics served.
- Supervise and guide the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
- Set and assess priorities consistently, implementing interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
- Act as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
- Current New Jersey Registered Nurse License.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of one year of experience as an OR RN or a recent graduate of a perioperative 101 program.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within five years of hire.
- Certification in Nurse Operating Room (CNOR).
- Night shift, 40 hours per week, from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Availability for weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as assigned.
- This is a full-time position.
