ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering effective and efficient nursing care, ensuring positive clinical outcomes and satisfaction for patients and their families.
- Assess patients/residents to gather data, monitor conditions, and report any changes.
- Participate in nursing assessments and contribute to care planning.
- Administer medications and perform treatments as directed by physician orders.
- Oversee and monitor the care provided by unlicensed staff members.
- Graduation from an accredited practical or vocational nursing program is required.
- Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing or pending licensure as a practical nurse is necessary.
- Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification if employed in a skilled nursing facility or as mandated by state regulations in an assisted living environment.
