About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join their team in Vancouver, WA. This position plays a critical role in supporting payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong full-cycle accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records while providing outstanding internal and external customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process semi-monthly payroll, including timesheet audits and payroll discrepancy resolution.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Prepare and record journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Perform account reconciliations and review bank deposits for accuracy.
  • Prepare payroll, financial, and tax-related reports, including W-2s, 1099s, and state reporting requirements.
  • Maintain vendor records and track purchase orders.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by gathering documentation and supporting compliance efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Respond to finance-related inquiries from employees, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Support ongoing process improvements and contribute to an efficient accounting operation.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; 5+ years preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with professionalism.
Preferred:
  • Experience preparing W-2s, 1099s, and other payroll tax reporting.
  • Experience supporting financial or operational audits.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and financial management systems.
Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
