Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time social worker to deliver a variety of clinical social work services to patients and their families as part of our innovative program focused on managing early-stage Type 1 Diabetes. This program operates within a multidisciplinary clinic that fosters a collaborative environment, offering numerous opportunities for professional advancement and personal development.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychosocial evaluations, provide crisis intervention, and offer individual and family counseling, including potential group psychoeducational sessions. Services will be delivered both in-person and through telehealth platforms.
  • Collaborate with Patient Navigators to assist patients and families in accessing necessary services and resources, both within our organization and externally.
  • Engage with our multidisciplinary team to address psychosocial challenges, including coping with medical diagnoses, treatment adherence issues, family distress related to health conditions, parenting and caregiver concerns, trauma, child protection matters, and domestic violence.
  • Initiate and develop new programs aimed at supporting patients and families involved in the program.
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives within the program.
QualificationsEducation
  • Master’s degree in social work.
Experience
  • Experience in a medical setting and familiarity with child protection issues is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
Licensure and Certifications
  • Must hold social work licensure in Massachusetts; LCSW is required, while LICSW is preferred.
  • Experience in a medical context and with child protection matters is beneficial.
  • Flexibility and capability to work in a rapidly changing environment are necessary.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills are crucial.

This role may require occasional travel to our satellite office located in Waltham.

Incentives
