Job Overview

The Special Procedure Technologist plays a vital role in supporting the nursing and physician teams by managing the technical aspects of daily operations. This position involves assisting the Electrophysiology team with the preparation, execution, and completion of procedures, including ablations and cardiac implants. The technologist ensures that quality control and assurance standards are met while prioritizing patient comfort and technical excellence in the electrophysiology lab.

Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Current and valid ARRT and NJ DEP licenses.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
    • Preferred: At least 2 years of experience in radiology.
    • Preferred: Experience in Procedural Interventional Radiology.
Scheduling Requirements

This position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in organizing the daily work schedule and preparing the procedure rooms.
  • Collaborate with physicians to ensure accurate orders, x-ray requisitions, and lab results.
  • Manage technical exposure factors using both digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Program digital computers, manage film stands, and operate contrast injectors.
  • Oversee radiation safety and protection protocols, and coordinate ongoing education.
