Job OverviewOur nursing staff operates in collaborative settings alongside strong interdisciplinary teams, emphasizing a patient-centered care approach in a diverse work environment. Under the guidance and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, registered nurses apply evidence-based practices in line with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and directives from the medical staff. Utilizing their knowledge and skills, registered nurses develop care plans that address the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and their families.
QualificationsExperience- Familiarity with the nursing process and customer service principles.
- National certification in a specialty area is preferred.
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
- IV skills are preferred.
- Proficiency in a second language is preferred.
- Current certification in BLS or completion within the first three months of employment.
- ACLS certification is required for Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, and designated staff in ACU/PACU and Endoscopy.
- ACLS is strongly recommended for staff cross-trained in these areas.
- NNR certification is required for Obstetrics.
- Must hold a current RN license in Connecticut and be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
