The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at our organization is a 22-bed unit focused on providing care for children facing a variety of critical health issues. These include severe respiratory failure, serious infections such as sepsis, nutritional deficiencies, poisoning, congenital disorders, and life-threatening complications arising from metabolic and endocrine conditions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Delivering care to patients suffering from respiratory insufficiency or failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, asthma, heart failure, sepsis, metabolic crises, and those with complex medical needs reliant on technology.
  • Providing treatment to medical patients with conditions that are life-threatening or potentially life-threatening across all age groups.
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment that fosters both learning and professional development.
  • Implementing family-centered care practices within the ICU setting.
  • Working a schedule of 36 hours per week, with rotating shifts including days, nights, and every third weekend.
  • *The anticipated start date for this role is October 2026.*
Essential QualificationsEducation:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.

Experience:
  • At least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience is required, with ICU experience preferred.
  • Experience in adult ICU or similar settings involving mechanically ventilated patients will be strongly considered.
  • Pediatric experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Licensure/Certifications:
  • Current RN Licensure in Massachusetts is required.
Sign-On Bonus:
  • This position offers a sign-on bonus of $10,000.00 (not applicable to internal candidates or former employees who have worked with us in the last two years).
