A Day in the Life of a Med-Surg RNResponsibilities

The Registered Nurse is accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, which encompasses patient care and the management of staff assigned to their care.
May take on the responsibilities of Charge Nurse and is accountable for maintaining professional standards.
Follows established policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and safeguard patient safety.

Qualifications

Essential Job Requirements:

Associate’s Degree or Nursing Diploma.
A valid New Mexico Nursing license or a compact license (to be obtained within 90 days of hire).
BLS certification must be secured within 14 days of hire or transfer into the position and before providing direct patient care.
Department may also require ACLS and/or PALS certifications.
