Overview of the Role and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care and overseeing all unit/department functions during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, assesses, and evaluates nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. This role also serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby enhancing patient experiences and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental success.

Key responsibilities in this position include:

• Facilitating admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Engaging in continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
• Working with subject matter experts and fellow managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
• Embracing a patient-first philosophy and participating in service recovery when necessary.
• Assisting the facility in boosting engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, such as employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
• Providing input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff. Recommending and executing actions related to training, conflict resolution, personnel policy adherence, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
• Helping with staff scheduling and managing labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
• Ensuring proper inventory management and assisting with the oversight of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications Required

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree in nursing.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
