We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in truck maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, especially those familiar with ready-mix or heavy machinery.

In this position, you will be responsible for the general maintenance and repair of ready-mix trucks, ensuring their reliability and safe operation. Your duties will include performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and responding swiftly to service requests. Additionally, you will contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment while working closely with team members and management to keep equipment in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems according to specifications and manuals.
  • Inspect and listen to machines to identify malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with shop leadership regarding significant issues and repair updates.
  • Operate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to retrieve or service malfunctioning assets.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance on service vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, fluid checks, and tire/light inspections.
  • Service and maintain pumps, motors, and related components as necessary.
  • Weld, repair, and fabricate metal parts or assemblies as required.
  • Purchase repair parts and materials as needed to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Provide on-site service support at other plants or job sites when necessary.
  • Assist in training and mentoring colleagues to ensure consistent maintenance practices.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas at all times.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • At least one year of experience as a truck mechanic is required.
  • Strong understanding of truck mechanics and general maintenance practices.
  • Proficient in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, chains, and appropriate safety devices.
  • Familiarity with standard maintenance procedures, including lockout/tagout and special work permits.
  • Competent with computers and maintenance-related software systems.
  • Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively in English.
  • Must provide personal tools up to ½-inch drive.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • A high school diploma is considered an asset.
  • Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks is preferred.
Location and Working Conditions
  • This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Henderson Plant.
  • Regular outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Utilization of fine motor skills such as manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination, and active hearing and vision.
  • Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and pushing or pulling as necessary.
  • Regular exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including safety shoes, vests, glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for tasks like welding or repairs.
  • This is a safety-sensitive role requiring successful completion of a PSP, MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test.
  • Travel to various job sites may be required as needed.

Salary Range: $28 - $34, depending on experience.
