Job Description
Job Responsibilities:

Provides primary health care services within scope of practice to adults and children in accordance with approved privileges.
\n - \n
Provides inpatient hospital services within scope of practice and in accordance with department policy.
\n - \n
Provides after-hours coverage for SSCHC patients.
\n - \n
Works in partnership with an Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) and one or more other team members to care for a shared panel of patients on the medical team, which includes but is not limited to diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions.
\n - \n
Emphasizes health promotion, wellness, and disease prevention.
\n - \n
Includes patient in medical decision making.
\n - \n
Orders, conducts and interprets diagnostic studies and laboratory tests.
\n - \n
Prescribes medication.
\n - \n
Prepares and maintains medical patient reports and records.
\n - \n
Abides by all SSCHC policies and procedures.
\n - \n
Has the option to participate in the training of APP's, medical students and medical residents.
\n - \n
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Licensed as a physician in the State of Wisconsin.
\n - \n
Completion of Internal Medicine/Pediatric Residency from an accredited Internal Medicine/Pediatric Program.
\n - \n
Board certification or eligible for Board Certification in Internal Medicine and in Pediatrics.
\n - \n
Licensed for prescriptive authority in the State of Wisconsin.
\n - \n
Insurable for liability coverage as an Internist/Pediatrician.
\n - \n
Working knowledge of the social and cultural factors associated with the community's use of social and health care services.
\n - \n
Ability to understand patient attitudes and needs, develop and orient program goals and concepts accordingly, and to work effectively toward their accomplishment with all staff members.
\n - \n
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, officials, the public, patients, other private and public organizational representative, health care personnel and community groups and organizations.
\n - \n
Ability to work under pressure, maintains personal composure, evaluate situations and act/react appropriately, and use tact in dealing with visitors, patients and difficult situations.
\n - \n
Ability to identify and maintain confidential material.
\n - \n
Ability to interpret and conform program operations to applicable laws, rules, regulations and funding source requirements and according to acceptable standards.
\n - \n
BLS certification maintained.
\n - \n
Spanish speaking preferred.
