LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established organization in Greensboro, NC, to identify an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys managing the full accounts payable process, resolving discrepancies, and working collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable activities, including the review, entry, and processing of invoices, employee reimbursements, and other payment requests.
- Confirm that transactions contain the appropriate approvals, general ledger coding, supporting documentation, and accurate information.
- Process approved payments through check, ACH, electronic payment, and corporate credit card channels.
- Maintain complete and accurate vendor records
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, credits, refunds, and vendor statement differences.
- Assist with corporate credit card administration, including cardholder setup, employee assistance, documentation follow-up, transaction review, and monthly reconciliations.
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, prepaid expenses, sales and use tax, expense allocations, and related accounting schedules.
- Review accounts payable and credit card activity for duplicate, incomplete, unusual, or incorrectly coded transactions.
- Provide accounts payable schedules and supporting documentation for annual audits and other reporting requirements.
- Communicate professionally with employees and vendors regarding invoices, payments, purchasing, documentation, and account questions.
- Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting is preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, including debits, credits, and general ledger coding.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and financial or ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
