\n\nJOB OVERVIEW
\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a Product Designer to join the organisation during a sustained period of development and growth.
\nAs a Product Designer, you will use your creativity, design knowledge and understanding of colour trends to support the creation of high-quality consumer camping products, including tents and awnings.
\nThe Product Designer will work across research, concept development, prototyping, materials awareness, supplier liaison and final sample delivery, with the opportunity to contribute to products used within the outdoor leisure market.
\n\nDUTIES
\nYour duties as the Product Designer include:
\n- \n
- Conduct Consumer Research: Carry out quantitative and qualitative consumer research to help identify new problems to solve and support product discovery \n
- Develop Product Designs: Create product designs in line with briefs and timelines set by product management, from inception and ideation through to final sample delivery \n
- Liaise with Prototyping Teams: Work with prototyping technicians to support the development, testing and refinement of product solutions \n
- Research Materials and Trends: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of relevant product materials, design trends and market developments through research, trade shows and supplier contact \n
- Document Designs Clearly: Produce clear and accurate design documentation for colleagues, suppliers and downstream recipients using visuals and the company PLM system \n
- Support Supplier and Trade Activity: Attend supplier visits worldwide and UK and European trade exhibitions as required \n
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
\n- \n
- A strong understanding of design theory and colour trends \n
- Experience of design within consumer products, textiles, interiors and/or architecture \n
- A collaborative attitude with excellent communication skills \n
- Good IT skills across office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint \n
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and suitable product design software \n
- An avid interest in outdoor pursuits, particularly camping, would be beneficial \n
- Experience of, or the ability to support, product development in Asia would be beneficial \n
