Contract Manager Civil Engineering Location: LeedsCompetitive Salary + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent BenefitsWhat's On OfferCompetitive salaryCar allowance or company vehicleAnnual bonusCompany pensionGenerous annual leaveProfessional development and trainingPaid professional membershipsEmployee wellbeing supportExcellent long-term career progressionOpportunity to work on high-profile infrastructure projects across the regionThe Opportunity An established and growing civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contract Manager to lead the successful delivery of multiple infrastructure projects across Yorkshire and the North East.Working across highways, public realm, flood alleviation, active travel and bridge schemes, you'll oversee projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager looking to join a business with a strong pipeline of secured work and genuine opportunities for career progression.The Role You'll be responsible for managing several civil engineering projects simultaneously, leading multidisciplinary teams while driving operational, commercial and health & safety performance across your portfolio.Key Responsibilities Project Delivery Lead multiple civil engineering projects from pre-construction to completionCoordinate project teams to deliver works safely, on time and within budgetManage project programmes and resource planningOversee project performance and resolve delivery challengesBuild strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholdersHealth, Safety & Quality Champion a positive health and safety culture across all projectsEnsure compliance with HSE legislation and CDM RegulationsCarry out regular Health & Safety and quality auditsLead HSEQ initiatives and continuous improvement activitiesPromote best practice across project teamsDesign & Technical Management Manage external design consultants and design deliveryCoordinate pre-construction planning and project mobilisationIdentify innovative engineering solutions that improve programme and costEnsure technical compliance throughout project deliveryCommercial Management Work closely with commercial teams to maximise project profitabilityReview CVRs, forecasts and project financial performanceSupport NEC and JCT contract administrationMonitor subcontractor performance and commercial compliancePresent monthly project and commercial updates to senior leadershipBusiness Development Build long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholdersSupport tender submissions and pre-construction activitiesRepresent the business at client meetings and tender interviewsIdentify opportunities for future work and business growthLeadership Lead, mentor and develop Project Managers, Site Managers and EngineersPromote a collaborative, high-performing team cultureSupport staff development, appraisals and succession planningDrive continuous improvement across project deliveryAbout You We're looking for someone with:Significant experience managing multiple civil engineering projectsProven background delivering infrastructure projects valued at £10m+ annuallyStrong experience within highways, public realm, bridges, flood alleviation or infrastructureExcellent knowledge of NEC and JCT contractsExperience managing multidisciplinary project teamsStrong commercial awareness, including CVRs and project reportingExcellent client-facing and leadership skillsSMSTS and CSCSDesirable Degree, HNC or NVQ Level 5 in Construction Management or Civil EngineeringMembership of ICE, CIOB or another relevant professional bodyLeadership or management trainingExperience working with local authorities and public sector clientsThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected civil engineering contractor delivering essential infrastructure projects across the North of England, with the chance to lead major schemes while progressing your career within a supportive and growing business.TPBN1_UKTJ
