Freelance Setting Out Engineer Location: Central London (2 Sites) Rate: £300 - £400 per day Contract Duration: 2 Years About the Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Setting Out Engineer to join a major regeneration project across two sites in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with a well-established contractor working on a significant residential and infrastructure development. Contract Details * Location: Two sites in Central London * Duration: 2 years * Day Rate: £300 - £400 per day, depending on experience and whether you can provide your own setting-out equipment The Role As part of the site engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate setting out across a large residential and infrastructure package, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project programmes. Key Responsibilities * Setting out for roads, drainage, foundations, groundworks, and residential units. * Conducting site surveys and producing accurate setting-out data. * Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project drawings and specifications. * Maintaining accurate records and as-built information. * Liaising with the Site Manager, Senior Engineer, and subcontractors to coordinate daily activities. * Identifying and resolving engineering issues on site. * Promoting high standards of health, safety, and quality throughout the project. Requirements To be considered for this role, you should have: * Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on RC frame, commercial, or major civil engineering projects. * A valid CSCS Card. * Experience using Leica, Trimble, or equivalent surveying equipment. * Your own setting-out equipment (desirable and reflected in the day rate). * Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently on a busy construction site.
