Lead Maintenance Technician3 Shift Pattern8 Hour ShiftsBasic Salary c£46,000 + Shift SupplementsWe're looking for an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to join our client's fast-paced, highly automated distribution centre in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineering professional who enjoys leading from the front and making a real impact on operational performance.Previous leadership experience is essential for this role as you will be the first line of technical leadership on the floor, keeping the facility running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.You'll work across a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, leading a small team of technicians and support techs while carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.If you're a proactive engineer with strong leadership experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform under pressure, we'd love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities for a Lead TechnicianLeading and supporting a team of Technicians across shift patterns, providing day-to-day technical guidance and mentorshipCarrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and conveyor systemsDiagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly to minimise disruption to operationsOverseeing compliance with health and safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and site proceduresCoordinating with operations management to schedule maintenance activities around production demandsMaintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to projects to increase equipment reliability and efficiencyEscalating complex issues to the Engineering Manager and assisting with contractor management when requiredExperience and Qualifications required for a Lead TechnicianNVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-mechanical EngineeringSignificant experience in a maintenance engineering role within a distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environmentStrong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skillsExperience with conveyor systems, MHE (Materials Handling Equipment), or automated warehouse systemsProven ability to lead or supervise a team, even informally18th Edition wiring regulations (or willingness to work towards)Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of workSalary and Benefits of a Lead TechnicianSalary c£46,000 + Shift allowance and overtime opportunities3 Shift PatternMornings, Afternoons, Nights8 HOUR SHIFTSCompany pension scheme with employer contributionsOngoing training and developmentOpportunities for progression within a growing operationOn-site parking and staff facilitiesFor more information about this Lead Technician role please call Holly on 07442 637735TPBN1_UKTJ
