We are seeking a flexible and committed C1 driver for our Tech+Tour project, the collaborative roadshow which operates across Hampshire promoting careers within Maritime, Logistics, health & Social care and Creative Arts at Schools, careers fairs, Youth and community groups. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in a bespoke, innovative project which supports and makes a real difference to future generations and has the local community at the heart of its values.

In this role, your responsibility will be to deliver and collect Tech+Tour from events across Hampshire in a timely manner, assisting delivery partners with the set up and pack down of the events vehicle (training provided) and if required supporting as staffing for Tech+Tour at our events. The post holder must possess a valid and clean C1 UK driving License and will report to the Project Officer - Tech+Tour & Externally Funded Projects.

This role would suit someone who is flexible with hours, comfortable with working on a casual basis, has a willingness to upskill and has good customer service skills when in a front facing environment, showcasing calmness, patience and pragmatism when working with younger ages.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Tech+Tour Driving
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • To deliver and collect tech+Tour to and from events around the Hampshire region.
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • To deliver and collect Tech+Tour from services and fabricators when required
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • To ensure cleanliness and organisation of the driver's cab
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • Ensure the vehicle has sufficient levels of diesel
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • To be available during antisocial hours, such as early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • Assist staff from delivery partners with the set up and pack down of the vehicle on location (Full training given)
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • Report any concerns and issues to Project officer
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • Identify the most viable route when driving to events, keeping clear of potential obstacles such as low bridges.
  • \n
\n

Tech+Tour Staffing (When required)

  • To assist and teach visitors how to utilise the equipment on board Tech+Tour
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • To engage with visitors and inform about the careers Tech+Tour promotes, being Maritime, Logistics, Health & Social Care and Creative
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • To ensure Cleanliness and presentability in the vehicle and of technical equipment both before and after events and in between workshops.
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • To report feedback to Project Officer on each event, including any issues with equipment or truck and any near misses.
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • To be available during antisocial hours, such as early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • \n
\n
