Architectural Technologist

Peace Recruitment
Glasgow, SCT, GB Full Time

Job Description

\n

I’m working with one of Scotland’s most established architectural practices to recruit an Architectural Technologist for its Edinburgh or Glasgow studio.

\n

\n

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of architecture but still wants variety, creative input and genuine involvement in how projects are delivered. You’ll join a friendly, collaborative team working across a diverse portfolio of commercial, workplace, education, residential, leisure and public-sector projects.

\n

\n

The practice has built an excellent reputation for producing thoughtful, sustainable architecture and interiors. Its projects range from smaller, carefully considered interventions to complex, large-scale developments, so you won’t find yourself endlessly repeating the same drawing package.

\n

\n

Your main responsibility will be producing accurate, coordinated project information using Revit. You’ll work closely with architects, designers, consultants and clients, helping projects move successfully from concept through the technical stages and into construction. Depending on your experience, there will also be opportunities to take greater ownership of packages, coordinate multidisciplinary information, attend site and develop your job-running skills.

\n

\n

I’m looking for someone with a BSc in Architectural Technology and at least two years’ experience within an architectural practice. You’ll need to be confident using Revit, comfortable producing detailed technical information and able to spot potential coordination issues before they become expensive problems on site.

\n

\n

Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and NBS Chorus would be useful, while knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or previous job-running responsibility would be an advantage. Just as importantly, you’ll be a clear communicator, a practical problem-solver and somebody who takes pride in producing properly resolved work.

\n

\n

This is not a practice where technologists are treated as drawing machines tucked away in the corner. You’ll be encouraged to contribute ideas, question decisions and work directly with experienced colleagues who value technical knowledge.

\n

\n

Professional development is taken seriously. The practice supports Architectural Technologists working towards CIAT membership through mentoring, guidance and study leave. You’ll also have access to regular CPDs, internal masterclasses, project presentations and site visits, giving you plenty of opportunity to broaden both your technical and commercial understanding.

\n

\n

The wider package includes a company pension, private health insurance, life assurance, income protection, an employee assistance programme, enhanced family leave, a holiday bonus scheme and Cycle to Work support. Flexible working is available, alongside a flexible working schedule once you have completed probation.

\n

\n

You’ll need to be eligible to work in the UK and able to work from either the Edinburgh or Glasgow studio.

\n

\n

If you’re a technically capable Architectural Technologist who wants strong projects, proper career support and a working pattern that gives you some life outside Revit, get in touch with me for a confidential conversation.
