Job Description
Location: Tyseley, BirminghamPay Rate: £12.71 per hour (Temp Contract)Reports to: Distribution Manager
\nOverview
\nWe are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join a busy warehouse and distribution team in Tyseley, Birmingham. This role plays a key part in ensuring stock is received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched accurately while maintaining high standards of safety and organisation.
\nDay-to-Day Responsibilities

- Receive, unload, and check incoming deliveries against delivery documentation \n
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch \n
- Carry out regular stock checks and inventory counts using warehouse management systems and mobile devices \n
- Ensure stock is stored correctly and locations are updated within the system \n
- Scan and record stock movements accurately to maintain inventory integrity \n
- Report stock discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly to management \n
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring the warehouse remains clean, safe, and organised at all times \n
- Assist with stock replenishment and rotation to ensure products are readily available \n
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies \n
- Support loading and unloading of vehicles as required \n
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and responsibly (where trained and authorised) \n
- Work flexibly within a team, providing support and cover for colleagues when needed \n
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations \n
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy \n
Required Skills & Qualifications
\n- \n
- Previous warehouse experience preferred, but not essential \n
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy \n
- Comfortable using handheld scanners, mobile devices, and warehouse systems \n
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties \n
- Good organisational and time management skills \n
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team \n
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn \n
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely in a warehouse environment \n
Desirable (Not Essential)
\n- \n
- Experience in stock control, logistics, or inventory management \n
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) \n
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence and Full UK Driving Licence \n
- Experience operating pallet trucks or other warehouse equipment \n
- Knowledge of health and safety practices within a warehouse environment \n
