Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer in London, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems within a education organisation. This role supports the facilities management team, ensuring systems run efficiently and safely. Client Details An education organisation based in London Description Electrical Engineer Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance works. Diagnose and repair electrical faults across distribution boards, lighting, power systems, and control panels. Undertake statutory inspections, testing, and compliance activities including emergency lighting and electrical systems. Support installation, modification, and upgrade projects. Record maintenance activities using mobile and digital reporting systems. Ensure compliance with current electrical regulations, health and safety legislation, and university procedures. Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support apprentices and junior colleagues through knowledge sharing and mentoring. Participate in the engineering on-call rota, responding to urgent issues when required.Profile A successful Electrical Engineer should have: Recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, AM2, JTL Apprenticeship, or equivalent. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification. Experience in a maintenance-focused electrical engineering role. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Good understanding of electrical compliance and health & safety requirements. Knowledge of building services and safe working practices. Comfortable using digital systems including CAFM software, tablets, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and email. Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.Job Offer Salary range of £39,000 to £43,900 dependent on the level of experience. Comprehensive benefits package included.
