Mechanical Project ManagerLocation: Milton KeynesSalary: £65,000 £70,000 per annum + packageSector: Mechanical Building Services / M&E / Commercial ConstructionEmployment: PermanentThe RoleWe are working with an established building services contractor delivering mechanical and M&E solutions across the commercial construction sector.Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to take ownership of mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical building services background and experience delivering commercial fit-out, refurbishment and design & build projects. You will be responsible for the overall delivery of projects, coordinating mechanical subcontractors, site teams, suppliers, consultants and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTake full ownership of mechanical projects from pre-construction through to practical completion and handoverManage the full mechanical project lifecycle including planning, design coordination, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handoverCoordinate mechanical subcontractors, engineers, supervisors and site teamsManage project programmes and ensure key milestones are achievedCoordinate with design teams to ensure designs are fully developed, buildable and compliantManage procurement of mechanical equipment, materials and subcontract packagesMonitor project costs, budgets, variations, valuations and financial performanceIdentify and manage commercial risks throughout the project lifecycleLiaise with clients, consultants, main contractors and other project stakeholdersChair and attend progress, design, technical and subcontractor meetingsManage RFIs, technical queries, design changes and project documentationEnsure mechanical works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and relevant standardsCoordinate mechanical works with electrical, architectural, structural and other building services packagesOversee testing, commissioning, snagging and final handoverMonitor subcontractor performance, programme and qualityEnsure RAMS, permits and site documentation are in place and adhered toMaintain high standards of health & safety and ensure compliance with CDM requirementsProvide regular project progress and commercial reports to senior managementSupport project forecasting and cost/value reportingResolve technical, commercial and programme issues proactivelyEnsure projects are delivered to the required quality, programme and profitability targetsTypical Project ExperienceExperience across some or all of the following would be highly relevant:Commercial office fit-outCAT A / CAT B refurbishmentDesign & build projectsCommercial refurbishmentLandlord and tenant worksMechanical services upgradesHVAC installationsChilled water systemsHeating and ventilationLTHW systemsDomestic water servicesAbove-ground drainageBMS integrationPlantroom installationsTesting and commissioningRequirementsProven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within building services/M&EStrong mechanical building services backgroundDemonstrable experience delivering commercial fit-out and refurbishment projectsExperience working on design & build schemesStrong understanding of mechanical installation and project deliveryExperience managing mechanical subcontractors and site teamsStrong programme and procurement management skillsCommercial awareness with experience managing budgets, variations and cost controlStrong client and stakeholder management skillsGood understanding of UK construction practices, H&S and CDMSMSTSCSCSMechanical qualification such as HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent experience would be advantageousBased within a commutable distance of Milton Keynes or willing to travel to the office/project locationsPackage£65,000 £70,000 basic salaryPackage / benefitsLong-term project pipelineOpportunity to progress within a growing contractorMilton Keynes-based role with projects across the wider regionTPBN1_UKTJ
